I Was Asked Today

"What are you looking for?" 

I dont know. I dont know much of anything these days. Im floating by in a stream of daily routines that bore me to no end.

 

I paint till I run out of canvas or ideas, which ever comes first. 

Im tired of men wanting one thing...and its not my brain.

Im sick of being alone, but I dont want anyone new. I dont want to hurt any more. 

I love life and I love being myself. Im stuck in limbo with no direction. The only direction I have is, knowing I need a change.

I am becoming much greater than the idealistic version of whom you think I am. 

I am a woman that grew up being broken down, only to evolve into a person that has more strength and determination than any man you will meet. A man could never give me what I need, because those are things that only I can obtain on my own.

 I bare the name that was given to me at my birth not of my father or my ex lover, but a name that has been passed down from woman to woman. I am Amanda Delight and I am walking away from love and running with my dreams...and ladies, you can do it too!

Look Inside Yourself and Trust the Voice Within

Sometimes a painting is inspired my music, but then once in a while, the song comes to you while the painting takes form. This song has so much meaning to me at this point in time, Im not sure which came first.

Loyalty

With their complex emotions and instinctual ability to form a strong family unit with impenetrable loyalty and devotion to one another, elephants stay true to their loved ones even years after they pass. This is something that I admire the elephant for.

Done in oil, this painting is on hand stretched 36x36 canvas. I forced myself to be free with the image, and tried not to get caught up in the detail. I did this by doing the layout upside down. This is the first painting in my Lucid Dream series.
