Tonight as I was laying on the floor mapping out pictures
for an up and coming art show,
I couldnt help notice my hip bones.
Its been many years since I have felt them
and as odd as it sounds,
they make me happy.
So, I captured them with my iphone.
But, it cant go unnoticed that no matter how much I alter my body,
my skin tells the unspoken visual story of motherhood.
A story, I would never want to rewrite.
My skin is a badge,
an earned plaque of labor, sleepless nights, selflessness and sacrifice.
