Just thought I would give you something to talk about. 

After a While

Bed Time

The number one rule in art is, there is no rules. The number one rule to being a parent is, well...there are no rules for that either. If there was, they would all be written in a book and parenting would be easy. I say, write your own book. Mold your children the way you want. Our home is full of the arts and creativity and I wouldnt want it any other way! Here is an example of that. Ever since Samantha could talk, Ive been teaching her a new song just about every week. Dear Amanda

You won't be his first, his last or his only. He's loved before, he will love again but, if he love's you now what else matters?

 He's not perfect and neither are you. And the two of you will never be perfect but, if he makes you laugh, at least once, causes you to think twice and admits to being human and making mistakes.... Hold on to him and give him all you've got!

 He is not going to quote poetry. He is not going to be thinking of you every moment but, he will give you a part of him that he knows you can break. Don't hurt him, don't change him, don't expect too much from him. 

Smile when he makes you happy, cry when he makes you sad and miss him when he's not there....

If You Love Someone

Many years ago I believed in the saying, 

"If you love someone let them go blah blah blah..."

Through life experiences I have come to learn that this saying is BS.

If you truly love someone you will stay with them and watch them grow.

Because by the time you are done fucking off and deside its time to get that person back, it will be too late...that person wont want you anymore. 

You seem to be my kind

Lucid, realistic and wet.

I paint while I dream and I dream while I paint.

My Inspiration

I was inspired by the lyrics of Lam and Grins to create a video that shows the "the seasons have a way ya'll of settling the score" with co-parenting and missing my daughter when she is gone, I am still "constantly reminded of just how lucky I am"

Jared Knight

This painting I did of Artist, Jared Knight was inspired by the style and composition of Vincent van Gogh's self portrait with straw hat dated 1887. 

Jared Knight is an abstract painter, who explores the world without formed thought. He feels that organized thought is what is destroying us. He has been painting all of his life, and in every dream. painting, for him is a way of life, a way of finding, and losing ones self. Abstract painting is dangerous, and fast. He warns you to be careful when viewing his work... you might not make it back.

I have known Jared since 2007. He has become a great friend and confidant. Not only has he been instrumental in my growth as an artist helping me understand the ways of the industry, but he has seen me get through some huge milestones in my personal life as well. We have exchanged paintings back and forth that we have collaborated on and we have also done each others portraits. Not to mention, we have made several videos of each other...and Jared has posted some hilarious parodies of yours truly that I absolutely adored!

Today when I got home I was greeted with a blog posted on my Facebook.  It was written by Nicole Cameron-Baer.  She is an OB Ultrasound Tech, or as I would say, My People!  She has a kind heart and is a pleasure to have on my friends lists.  One day soon Im sure well will share crazy patient stories over a hot cup of tea. 

Thank you Nicole for your support and following me on my journey.  I love the order in which you listed my hats, for I list them in that order as well.  Its an order of importance in my life.  My daughter being number one and my art coming before my career in women' s health.  I truly love what I do as a mother, artist and professional for they introduce me to wonderful people such as yourself!

I have been headed down a path that even I have no control over. I couldnt change it even if I wanted to...because Lord knows I have tried!

I feel as though I could be in horrible motor vehicle accident and would walk away without a scratch on me. Its not that I feel untouchable, I guess I feel so strongly that God has a plan for me and everything does happen for a reason. 

So today I took a huge step in order to continue on my path. I called a realtor. My home will be listed by the end of the week. 

My Inspiration and I

I like the way this is coming out. I always start with a vision of how I want the end result to look. For instance with this one, I wanted to do a traditional underlayer followed by thin layers of the flemish technique. However, Im seeing pink and brown with a touch of fun to come. Who knows. This is where the painting will just paint itself.
